No County In SC is immune from speed-related fatalities.
In the three years prior to 2003, speed-related traffic deaths increased from 414 to 496, an increase of 17%. The 410 speed-related traffic deaths in 2003 represented 57% of total fatalities reported on South Carolina’s roadways during that year.

An average of three traffic deaths per day occur in our state.  In 2003, 37.7% of all speeding fatalities in South Carolina occurred on the secondary system while 18.1 % were on the interstates.

The leading counties for speed-related fatalities include: Horry County, Greenville County, Spartanburg County, Richland County, Anderson County, Lexington County, York County, and Charleston County.
